Hi!
Housekeeping: If you have feedback about this newsletter, you can submit it through this one-question form. Thanks!
I have a new article out, yay!
For paid subscribers (and free subscribers, in this special edition!) I hyperlinked the friend link below (& shared more details re: the headline):
I gotta be honest with you…
I’m not doing great. And I’m not totally sure why.
Maybe it’s a hormone thing, or because I’m lonely and miss my ex, or just adult life hitting me hard. Maybe it’s because it’s Pride Month and I’m single (homophobic!! JK lol) and I also haven’t celebrated it in any way.
I’ve just been struggling all around — and unfortunately, that extends to this newsletter in different ways.
First off, it’s not going the way I’d hoped it had, really. But as I type that, I wonder, What did I want, truly?
Part of me just keeps thinking about how this isn’t super sustainable because I haven’t gotten many paid subscribers, and I can’t afford unpaid work. (Thanks to those who have paid, and no worries to those who haven’t — I get it, we have to budget these days!)
But also, paid subscribers get the content that makes me worry that one day, they’ll find out who I am (or if they do, the info I share isn’t something I want tied to me).
And hey, I have gotten more new subscribers overall, and I have had weeks where I really love writing this newsletter. So I don’t really know what to do, and I just wanted to be honest with you about that.
Also: If I decide to stop or pause this newsletter, I’ll click that button on Substack, which should stop payments from coming! In other words, you should still be able to get paid newsletters when they come, without having to pay for months when they don’t. Hope that makes sense!
If anyone has thoughts on this, I’m open to hearing! Encouragement, advice, insight into what you’d like see, etc. You can respond to this email or use the form linked at the top of this email.
Thanks for being here <3 Hope you’re doing okay!
Love,
Eliza (also known as The Sex & Secrets Column on Medium
